Synaptics Participation at 2012 Computex Taipei Will Feature Several Innovative Industry-Firsts

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Synaptics Incorporated (NASDAQ: SYNA), a leading developer of human interface solutions for mobile computing, communications and entertainment devices, announced today that it will demonstrate the latest touch technologies, including industry-first solutions, at the 2012 Computex Taipei exhibition in Taiwan.

Demonstrations of market leading product technologies will showcase:

  • Intel Ultrabooks featuring large, gesture-enabled Image Sensing ClickPads, optimized for Windows 8, that deliver a superior multi-touch experience to notebook PC users
  • The industry's first production single-ASIC, high-performance tablet touch sensor, the ClearPad™ 7300, which supports screen sizes up to 12" for Microsoft Windows 8 and Google Android ("Ice Cream Sandwich") OS solutions
  • The industry's first production In-Cell enabled smartphone featuring the ClearPad 3250, which eliminates the discrete touch sensor by integrating touch within the display, allowing OEMs to deliver thinner, lighter and brighter mobile devices
  • The first Synaptics host-based ClearPad Series 7 solution that is implemented in NVIDIA's Kai reference design platform utilizing DirectTouch on the Tegra host that will enable partners to create high performance tablets with a superior touch experience

"Synaptics has shipped over one billion units to date and continues to design innovation-driven solutions that define human interface technology by tapping into the deep system-level engineering experience of the company," said Mark Vena, senior vice president of Synaptics' PC Division. "This year's Computex is the perfect forum to demonstrate Synaptics' extensive technology portfolio that underscores our leadership position in the PC, tablet and mobile product areas."

Synaptics will exhibit the latest solutions in the Grand Hyatt Taipei, Suite 1010 from June 5 through June 8, by appointment.
