Synaptics Introduces NavPoint Interface for HP iPAQ hx4700 Pocket PC
Innovative NavPoint Solution Brings Cursor Functionality and Advanced Interface Options to iPAQ Users
San Jose, CA - July 27, 2004 - Synaptics® Incorporated (NASDAQ: SYNA), a leading developer of interface solutions for mobile computing, communications, and entertainment devices, has developed a new touchpad interface solution for the HP iPAQ hx4700 Pocket PC.
The NavPoint touchpad solution replaces the HP device's five-way mechanical button with an interactive capacitive sensor. In addition to replacing button functionality, the NavPoint also offers unique navigation controls, including short and long distance scrolling features, tapping, and mouse-like cursor navigation.
