Synaptics and NXT to Develop Integrated Audio Solutions for Laptop Computers

Synaptics(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: SYNA), a leader in human interface solutions for mobile computing and communications devices, today announced it has entered into an agreement to license NXT plc's flat panel loudspeaker technology, SurfaceSound(TM). NXT plc is a British company focusing on audio and speech technology. Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to integrate NXT's audio technology with Synaptics' capacitive sensing technology to develop a TouchPad(TM) with speaker capabilities.
