Synaptics TouchView TDDI Second-Generation Solutions Now Shipping in Volume at LGE

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 18, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Synaptics Incorporated (NASDAQ:SYNA), the leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced its second-generation TouchView touch and display driver integration (TDDI) products are now shipping in mass production volumes in the latest LG Electronics smartphone models. Synaptics' second-generation TouchView TDDI portfolio features four different products covering resolutions from HD to Full HD to WQHD. TouchView TDDI combines the company's industry-leading touch controller IP and systems-level expertise with its leading-edge display driver technology into a single device. TouchView TDDI delivers lower overall system cost, simplifies the supply chain and enables thinner devices, brighter displays and borderless designs.

Synaptics TouchView solutions feature innovative and patented touch controller capabilities, such as support for up to ten fingers, passive stylus, face detection, low-power wake-up gestures, gloved touch, and superior moisture performance. Proprietary display driver features include support for billion color displays, sunlight readability enhancement, and local area auto-contrast adjustment. Image Studio, Synaptics' unique software development kit, empowers OEMs and LCMs with tools for rapid and custom fine tuning of their displays.
