Synaptics Provides One of the First Drivers for Microsoft Windows Vista

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct 12, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Synaptics Incorporated (Nasdaq: SYNA), a leading developer of interface solutions for mobile computing, communications and entertainment devices, announced today the availability of its new driver designed for the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.

Synaptics' driver for the Windows Vista operating system will allow users to adjust the Synaptics' TouchPad(TM) settings to enhance the user experience. The new driver incorporates all of the compelling TouchPad features such as sensitivity adjustments, tap settings for selection and dragging, the PalmCheck feature, which eliminates cursor jumping while typing due to accidental brushes against the pad, Virtual Scrolling to enable scrolling along the edge of your TouchPad, and many other user friendly features.

The driver will support a comprehensive range of popular Synaptics' products including TouchPads, TouchStyks(TM) and Dual Mode TouchPads, and is tested and fully compatible with all editions of Windows Vista, including 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
