Synaptics to Discuss Future of User Interfaces at 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan 04, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Synaptics Incorporated (Nasdaq: SYNA), a leading developer of human interface solutions for mobile computing, communications, and entertainment devices, will speak on two influential panels at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to discuss the future of user interfaces.

Mark Vena, vice president of Synaptics' PC Business Unit, will participate on the panel "The New User Interface: Who Needs Buttons and Dials?" exploring how innovative companies are harnessing the power of sensors in everyday products. Vena will outline where the industry is going and how the power of capacitive touch is changing the way consumers interact with their intelligent devices. The panel takes place from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall, Room S104-105.

Andrew Hsu, technology strategist for Synaptics, will be participating on the Digital Hollywood at CES Mobile Entertainment panel, "Inventing the Smartphone Culture - Integrating the Full PC Experience into a Personal Communications Devices." He will discuss what's ahead for ground-breaking smartphones, and share insights acquired during the development of Fuse(TM), a next-generation concept handset that looks at where handsets are going beyond the ever-popular touchscreen. Hsu will be speaking from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall, Room N258.

Synaptics will also be exhibiting new touchscreen and touchpad technologies at CES in its private booth (#35364MP, South Hall).
